Reading and Resources

Books and resources that I highly recommend.

Reading ...

These are the books that sit beside my computer.  Some I refer to often, others are there because I've practically memorized the content and just having them close reminds me of how inspiring the content is.

As a writer, I can't go past the following.

The Writer Laid Bare, Lee Kofman

Books that I have read about mental health

Podcasts

Here are just a few of the great podcasts I listen to on a regular basis.  There is so much diversity to encourage those who want to be inspired in the writing community!

  • The First Time. For emerging writers.

  • The Shit No One Tells You About Writing. A practical guide to cracking into the industry with author insights.

  • The Manuscript Academy.  North American centric, but valuable insights into the international market.

  • So You Want to Be a Writer. More on the craft of writing.

  • James and Ashley Stay at Home. An insightful look into the industry and how to manage your life in the process.

  • Byron Writers Festival.  Great interviews from recent Festivals.  Always inspiring.

  • Differently Brained.  Learning to live with a neurodivergent perspective.

  • 5 Writers 5 Minutes. Five authors share their perspectives and insights on writing.

  • The Creative Penn.  All about indie publishing.  A bit heavy on the advertising, but lots of great nuggets of wisdom to find too!
